Re: Ultima 7 HD?
I have to say for me, this would be a dream come true, and it would probably generate quite a bit of interest in the project from those who aren't able to get themselves past the 'dated' graphics I'm not a graphics designer at all, but I'd definitely be willing to play the game using the modificatio...

Re: Gentoo Exult CVS ebuild
Done the ebuild, compiles and installs just fine, and playable =D All that's needed is to change the config file to match the game and sound effect paths The only thing I don't know how to do, is get it to download a new CVS source package everytime you emerge, but at worst all that's needed is to d...

Gentoo Exult CVS ebuild
Is there any interest out there for an gentoo ebuild of the CVS + sound/music packs?
I've been making one for myself, but figured I might ask here if anyone else has interest in it (not easy, never made an ebuild before, taking some time, working on the install portion of it now)

Also, I was experiencing a crash in the SI knighthood trial when I was fighting the cyclops, it seemed to only be when I tried running around him to get him in the way of the traps (pathing) Would that've had to do with anything you fixed? I saw in the changelog about large creatures, so was curious...

(I really wish there was an edit feature)
If there's any information, compiler info, or anything that would be handy for tracking this down, just let me know and I'll do my best to get the information for you

Re: Linux CVS Compile Issues
Alright, the fix for the usecode compiler worked perfectly and got past all that, however it's still getting stuck on the errors around: xdrag.o: In function `Get_window_coords': /home/bryantona/Desktop/exult/exult/xdrag.cc:51: undefined reference to `XQueryTree' /home/bryantona/Desktop/exult/exult/...

I would love that feature! That's probably the most irritating thing for me, though until this post, I couldn't remember *why* it was bothering me so much. Must've been because I was used to the originals way of doing it

Also, it would be nice to not have to pull up Exult Studio just to rotate a crate or a plank that you're carrying around

Re: Exult 3D Screenshots I
I'm not sure, but I think the aim of this engine is to recreate the 3D graphics, using only the models already in Ultima.
(That would explain the flat characters, since they are flat ingame

I remember the demo, and I know I had it on one of my CD's, however, when I found my old T2A CD, the demo was nowhere to be found!
Too bad too, I wanted to check it out again

Eeh gad, Johnson's *supposed* to die!?
I always got frustated trying to walk him back, so I hackmoved him into my pack and ran there (though I don't remember if that worked properly, it's been a while)

Tetzlaff - I tried for ages to do the very same thing, I seem to remember one part of the game where you could purchase directions on how to make a sword (or maybe it was a book I found), try and try as I might, I could never get it to work!

Re: The SIMS obsession in U7
I remember when I was around 8 or 9, and my father brought home U7 for me. I stocked up on ketchup, all sorts of cooking supplies, hell, I even carried a couldron with me (or maybe it was a pot, I'm not sure if I remember correctly). I remember that at that time, I had been thinking I was going to n...

Can't seem to find zlib_libcmt.lib
Hi, I've been trying to compile Exult under Visual Studio, and it can't locate this library. I've looked all over the net and I could only find two references to it, on this discussion board, but that didn't seem to help me out at all. Where could this file be found, (or is there something that I ha...

Re: SDL_mixer not being recognized
*nods*, I realized after that Fedora was a Linux distro, I had thought it was something else, I tried using the source rpm, but for some reason or another it wouldn't install it properly (at least the gui-installer wouldn't, I didn't bother trying the console). Thanks for the information about build...

Re: SDL_mixer not being recognized
*sigh*, Don't you just hate it when you make a simple mistake? I had installed SDL_mixer, not the developer libraries for it though, my apologies. Now I'll try to make an rpm for it once it's compiled, never done this before, but if I figure it out, I'll upload it for other users. Anyone have any li...

SDL_mixer not being recognized
Hrm. I'm trying to compile the CVS source code snapshot from Feb. 26th, I'm running SuSe 9.0 Professional. I've got the required libs installed and everything, but for some reason ./configure isn't recognizing my SDL_mixer, I've installed it using the rpm version 1.2.5, yet I keep getting this error...

Re: Datafile Location Errors
My apologies It seems to have been a small error on my part, I still had my terminal under SU, so it was creating a default log in my root directory, running it normally solved the problem. So simple, for something that caused me at least half an hour of grief!

Datafile Location Errors
Hmm, I did a bunch more searches on this also, found some posts about things similar, but they didn't solve my problem (maybe I was trying it the wrong way). (I've read the FAQ and checked the readme file, maybe I missed something) I've got the .exult.cfg in my home directory, with the datafiles pla...

My apologies if this has already been discussed before, I did quite a few searches and I couldn't find anything that helped me Running Linux Mandrake 9.1, I've installed all of the lib requirements that I know of, but when I run "sh autogen.sh" I get the following: /usr/bin/m4: configure.i...
