I think I broke exult

Serpent Isle alway ran well for me on exult, its a great program and I would still like to play the ultima 7 series again. But when I started a game on black gate and hit F1 to open up the cheat menu, the game's video crapped out, it does show and run the game but the video is just totally out of whack. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and uninstalling and so on, and to no avail. any thoughts or maybe a resolution would be great, Thanks alot for reading.

can you be more descriptive? Maybe run it in windowed mode and make a screenshot with the print key so you have the whole desktop as a screenshot.
Also what operating system, what graphics card, laptop/normal PC? Are you using the latest display drivers?

Also, isn't it F2 that opens the cheat menu, not F1?
