No, flux analyser is for the time Arcadion is out of it. The flux analyser fixes the black sword.

Those topics about using flux analyser when Arcadion is in are because they found bugs or cheated.

What makes Flux analyzer on?

The flux analyzer "fixes" the black sword. You need the black sword fixed in order to defeat the banes. If you are NOT on the quest to defeat the banes, then don't bother.

The Flux Analyzer is not in the Mountains of Freedom. It's in...umm... Skullsmasher? I always get those two confused. It's in Vasculio's lab. You won't come across it until you need it. (in fact you don't even know of its existence until after the Banes are released, you'll find a note on one of the dead mage's bodies about it)
That note's always rather bothered me. Melino (right name?) was actually one of the Good mages, so his bigoted comments about the Avatar (who was quite clearly not a mundane when he/she helped him with his experiments) really don't seem to fit in with his character.

Melino is the one who writes that letter, and he *is* one of the bigoted ones. Gustacio is the one you help with his experiments, and from whom the Flux Analyzer was stolen. Actually, I think that he does mention it at the time, if you talk to him about the Black Sword after getting out of Freedom.

Something along the lines of, "I could fix it if I had my Flux Analyzer, but it was stolen years ago..."

I can`t find difference when after using and before...

You will see no difference, but now you can defeat the Banes. They only die if you fight them with a "fixed" black sword.

Actually you can know about the flux analyzer before leaving Moonshade, I think you have to talk to the artisans about the black sword and they direct you to gustacio or melino (or the magister, I really can´t remember right now, but sure about you cn talk about it somehow after Freedom).
