Congratulations! We, at least I, didn't even know that someone ported Exult to gp2x
And yes, we are interested in patches, best place would be our patch tracker at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_ ... tid=302335

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
How can i generate "exult_bg_flx.h" and "exult_si_flx.h" files?
I'm doing a crosscompile for mips on an x86 environment and i cant execute "expack" on my host system, because its x86 and not mips.
Do i need to generate something else to build the exult client?

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
Whats the best way to make Exult playable without mouse? Mouse Emulation or make Menues controllable via D-Pad and Buttons?

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
I think a mixture would be nice. Maybe have look at how the pocketpc port and the zaurus port manage mouse.

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
I think they have touchscreens. But Dingoo has not.
Is it possible to browse the Gumps via keypad just like the bg/si startmenu?

Ah and i got the exult svn compiled. But it did not work. So i choose to use 1.2 for now based on the gp2x build.

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
hmm, too bad the SVN doesn't work, since the SVN is the recommended version these days.
We eliminated the need for SDL_Mixer in SVN, perhaps that plays a part...

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
OK. I got the current SVN compiled and running on Dingux (Dingoo). SDL_mixer is fine so far.

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
Hey.
I ported an virtual mouse driver to Dingux (Linux on Dingoo) as base for Exult ( and of couse other apps that need a mouse).
Before i release my Exult Port Dingux i want to know, is Ultima 7 part1 and part2 playable only using the mouse?
What keys are needed? The dingoo has not many Keys.
I have mapped:
-ESC -> Select button
-cursor-up,-down,-left,-right -> D-Pad
-virtual mouse -> R-shoulder+D-Pad
-mouse buttons -> R-shoulder + A (right), B(middle), Y(left)
Now I have 6 Keys left (START, A, B, X, Y, L-shoulder) for a mapping.
What is usefull? What is really needed?
thx

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
Best answer you can get is by trying to play a bit both games. I'm sre you will quickly notice which keys you miss/want...
