After 15 years, I've finally finished Serpent Isle!!!

First off I'd like to give a shout out to the awesome people who created Exult which has allowed me to finally replay and FINISH the greatest game series (U7+SI) that ever was created!

It's been 15 years or so since I originally purchased these games for my computer at the time which was a 486 DX2-66mhz... but I was never able to fully complete the Serpent Isle portion of the series.

A decade or so later, the guys at Exult created this wonderful program that allowed me to play the series again and 20 minutes ago... after countless hours of playing... the the journey has now been completed!

I think it's time to play through the Black Gate again with the added features such as the enhanced paperdolls, etc... and relive my youth of playing these wonderful games.

Again... hats off to all those who made Exult as well as the vision of Richard Garrett who created such a wonderful storyline and video game!

Congrats! I think will all the off and on again time Ive been playing Exult over the last few years Im ALMOST up to where I last remember leaving off in 1994 on my old 386SX/25 hehehe.

Of course this time it only took me a week to finish Black Gate where originally I think I played it for a year!

Congratulations! I remember it took me well over a year or two of playing U7:BG before I was able to beat it - with all the subplots, FAQ-less dungeons, and my desire to create the ULTIMATE Avatar fort (which of course crashed the game due to too many containers full of gold etc. and corrupted my save games over and over again) - it just seemed like the game would never end!

SI seemed much more linear and easier to me, but I'm glad you were able to beat it! *cheers* to the Exult team!

SI kept and still keeps me annoyed due to excessive amounts of fake walls. And Silver Seed is even worse about that...

I agree. SI is much more linear than BG. The linearity was more than likely necessary for players to obtain the massive amount of items needed to beat the game IMO.

Ya. The fake walls definitely drove me nuts on occasion.

I think Marzo's patch "SI Fixes" causes things to go into a container. It is really easy without the fix though. Just put the items in a container and set them on the ground before the event happens.

Why'd you move all the gear? I just took what I needed and left everything on the ground so I could return later with my restored companions and have them pick it all up.

A little simple receipt:

1) Take 3 automatons with you
2) Cast create automaton 3 times
3) Ask them to join you
4) Take all the necessary gear from Iolo, Shamino and Dupre an put it on the 3 automations disctinctivly.

When your 3 companions is restored well put all their gears in place and ditch the automatons
