Key in Goblin King's Crate?

There is a dark brown key in the crate in the Goblin King's house. What does it go to?

The locked door back in the cave with all the treasure on the table and the helm of courage I believe.

That's the key on his body. The crate one does not work on that door.

I thought they were both keyed to the same door (in case you miss one I suppose, since it is necessary for completing the game), but I may very very well be mistaken.
