dos emulators...

Post by Broken Fusion! »

has anyone ever gotten the old Ultima 7 to work under a dos emulator...
or VMware or something?
Or am I wasting my time over here trying to work it? =P

I got the intro to U7:BG running in DosEMU before it crashed, and I got it working in VMWare, I believe, but without sound. Eventually Exult got good enough that I didn't have to worry about it anymore. :-)

Use Exult.
That is your answer.

I think it runs in bochs, if slowly.

Hmm, I got the dos os to work, but how do I insert ultima for use?
Insert a disk with it on it and load it from there?

I know Esult is here, and I use it.
But I like messing with stuff. :D

One of the Ultima Dragons has (or had?) a page somewhere detailing how to run U7 in Bochs. Try googling for it.

Google is a really dumb name for a number...

Let me explain:
The name "Google(TM)" is apparently a spelling variant of the word "googol."

Ah, yes, googol I know about (just didn't make the connection :-) )

Thanks :-)

Er, Google has betrayed me. I knew about the number, though... (obviously)
