interesting Recall/magic carpet problem

Anyone ever tried casting Recall while the magic carpet is in the air? It takes you to the right location, but then party movement goes weird (looks like it may still be trying to move the carpet). Did anyone try this in the original? What did it do there? (I don't think this is worth reporting as a bug - the solution is to just not do it :).

casting recall on a magic carpet is bad!

I've lost about two magic carpets that way :P

Cool, I only used the mark/recall spells once in the game where you have to on the isle of the avatar. They are just not otherwise useful.

Well, even for something that can be avoided by just not doing it, I think it should be fixed.

At least, you should not be allowed to cast recall on a magic carpet.

Same goes for saving in scripted sequences; I didn't know you couldn't save during one of those, so I lost a savegame cos of that. Why not just disable saving in those sequences?

I posted a bug that said saving shouldn't be allowed in sequences, but they closed it.

In the original BG, the formation resets to normal, but the carpet is still lost.
Unless you can make mountains out of bread loaves that is.

Why do people say you -have- to use the mark/recall spells at the Isle of the Avatar? I've seen it before on this forum, but I -never- used those spells, and I've beat the Black Gate twice. Am I missing something here?

Me too. I didn't even know of those spells and the virtue stones until way after I finished BG.

Well i've always thoguht them to be quite usefull personnally. It does save a lot of long travel if you use them (like redoing Despise a seconde time ot get get i nthe sphere), so they come handy.

Never used them once on the isle of the avatar though.

Casting "Recall" while travelling with carpet, ship or cart is horrible indeed. [:-() In the original U7 this spell only teleports you without corrupting the game as Exult does.
I´m going to submit a bug report ( >Well, even for something that can be avoided by just not doing it, I think it should be fixed. Well said, Dino [;-)) ) including "parking carriage near another one" issue. I´ll beg for the Exult Team to make driving carriage to work better too.

There is an area that has cells in it and you need to get a key from them. When you first enter, the door closes and you can't open it again, thus, before you enter the area, you need to mark a stone and drop it.

Unless you know of a way to open it again, I havn't found it.

There is supposed to be an illusionary wall on the last cell, but I can't walk through it fully.

There's actually a lever hidden behind the barrel in the westernmost room, as I recall. Flipping it opens up the secret passage back into the hallway.

Sweet. That's two things in the last few days I never knew about the game. The other was the key under the rock near the chest under the maple tree.
