Re: Ultima VI Conversion
Take the Iris2 (Ultima Online) Engine. A lot of shards take this Client as base for thier heavy customized freeshard. You can easily take and modify this. You can even do an singleplayer game. It has an 2D-TileMode and also an 3D-TileMode. You can switch between inGame ;-). http://www.iris2.de greetz

Ah and i got the exult svn compiled. But it did not work. So i choose to use 1.2 for now based on the gp2x build.

I think they have touchscreens. But Dingoo has not.
Is it possible to browse the Gumps via keypad just like the bg/si startmenu?

Re: Exult ported to Dingoo Handheld
How can i generate "exult_bg_flx.h" and "exult_si_flx.h" files?
I'm doing a crosscompile for mips on an x86 environment and i cant execute "expack" on my host system, because its x86 and not mips.
Do i need to generate something else to build the exult client?

Re: Exult 3d
Do you know our Iris2 project? As i explained earlier in this thread: we did already the same as you explained. We took the UO 2d Client and "pipelined" the original UO data into 3d. Lets say you have a map file and statics and you have art graphics. You need the mapfile and statics file t...

One Tip. Take an existing free 3d Engine, so you don't have to invest time into existing techniques.

Re: Ultima 7 HD?
You need an Art Tool for managing the lots of Tiles and GFX. We coded a tool for our Iris2 project. Maybe you take a look at it to see what i mean. http://ghoulsblade.schattenkind.net/iris/irisarttool/ http://iris2.de/index.php/Item_Model_List Collaborative Development must be coordinated. This is t...

Re: Exult 3d
Hey, you are right. The Z-axis (heightmap) would be flat. But i think it's not that difficoult to add a selfmade heightmap to this as a new maplayer. Most work would be as i sayed before the goundID mapping (grass for grass, aso.). If we have a converted groundmap, we can start to map ObjectIDs. I t...

Re: Exult 3d
I followed this thread a long time. Your Idea is the same as our with Ultima Iris (a full 3d Client for Ultima Online). Started in 2003 we discontinued our first Ultima Iris Client, because of too much work on our own 3D Engine. In August 2006 we started a completly new Client called Iris2. More abs...
