I'm soooo close

Post by jess »

ok, I'm on the isle of the avatar. I'm at the satage where I have to sit on the "throne of many changes." I sit on the stupid thing twice (I double checked that on a walkthrough), and NOTHING happens. I go down, and it's still the same room with the teleporters that sent me to this room. According to the walkthrough I should be able to walk down through an imaginary wall and search a body to find a blue key. Is this a bug, or did I just not set off a flag or something ?

So, close but yet so far.
I'm really eager to start the Serpent Isle (I've NEVER finished that one). And you guys will be here to help me through these annoying little problems! You guys rock!

I had the same problem, it's probably an Exult bug. I just teleported to the final room with the Liche and the illusion wall in the north west. That's the only way I've found to beat it, unless there's some egg or something I'm missing. But in the original I don't remeber doing anything special to get the Throne of Changes to work.

I teleported to the room and that worked. Then I used the snapshot and that worked too. On to the Serpent Isle!

thanks

p.s.

Do you guys know which places make good headquarters in SI? In BG I always use Sentri's house to keep excess money, food, etc. But I don't have a known place in SI, yet.

I've just found this site and praying to be uo'ing shortly, but I was always fond of the inn at Monitor as my base of operations.

In the Black Gate, I just store my stuff in my ship's hold. But if I ever get a real lot of stuff, I usually store it at the docks in Britain. In Serpent's Isle, the Monitor Inn makes an excellent place to store stuff, until you get the jaw bone that is.

In SI, yeah, nothing beats the Dark path.

In BG, I stack some barrels at the very back of my carpet (the "trunk"
location of a car). Probably something like 4 across and stack 2 or
even more vertically. Basically try to dump as many barrels on the back
of the carpet as possible.

This way it holds more than a ship's hold, and with at least 8 barrels
that's a lot of flexibility to catagorize your stuff!!!

The only problem is, occasionally my party of 8 won't all be able to pathfind
to a seat. 7 would get seated, and wait for like 30 seconds for the last
guy running around, then I'll just retry getting on the carpet again
(by leading my party away from the carpet, and re-double clicking on it).

Yeah, even though a path still remains for my last party member to get
to his/her seat, the AI likes to think the barrel blocking the way.

sigh.

Monk's Isle. You'll need to return there very often later in the game, so it's really nice to have stored your stuff there - buckets full of water in particular :) Also, it's the only place where people actually survive. I do not like bodies rotting near my HQ...

Close second is the naked woman camp north of Mt. Freedom, Moonshade :)

Theoretically, considering that Batlin also uses the Dark Path, it would be a bad place to store your, say, the serpent crown...

That's a good point actually. Why didn't Batlin just steal all the stuff I stored there and come and kill me with it?

Imbecile!
