Strange forum issues...

Post by Dale. »

So I am having the strangest issue with the forum all of a sudden. It has been going on for about a week now that I am aware of...
I keep getting the following error when trying to open a thread:

502 Bad Gateway

nginx

Tried logging out. Nothing. All the other links on the site work. Waited a couple days, same issue. Tried my cell and the forum works fine. Still nothing on the laptop.

Finally today I tested out some older threads and they all opened. It appears the issue ONLY happens for threads that are marked as 'new' for me. So strange.

Thoughts? (I am posting this on my laptop) {no I am not because submitting have me the same error}
Dale.

Ugh... And apparently it posted multiple times, so maybe posting from the laptop worked but then loaded the error page. Annoying.
Please delete those other two threads. Sorry about that.

The forum software is old and cludfy and SF's backend may wreak havoc at times.
It's misbehaving all the time. Sometimes you may need to delete the exult site cookie as well.

Deleting the cookie worked. Big thanks... and sorry if it was a dumb question. So strange though that it was only on new threads...

Ugh. This happened again. How is a site made for coding so out-dated? hahah

But it's about a game that is even older.

The only way to fix this is to wipe your browse history, cookies, and any temporary browsing files.

I'm surprised they haven't replaced this forum with a newer one. There's plenty free to use ones all over the net.

It's mostly because no one has time to setup a new forum. We almost have no time to spend on developing for Exult.
I know our forum can be annoying ;(

I assumed the forum was standard for all projects on sourceforge. I certainly wasn't suggesting that YOU GUYS be working on it. Now I feel bad for even mentioning it.

JD: you only need to remove the cookies for sourceforge to get it working, not your whole history.

Ah, I see ;)
And no, SF does not offer a forum themselves apart from a very very simple one. They once did but scrapped that...

Again.. I apologize for seeming rude, then.
I would infinitely prefer what time you manage put aside go to developing for Exult rather than the forums. My bad.
