Heya. I was just wondering if anyone has a working link to the keyring mod, since the one given in its thread doesnt seem to work anymore.
Thanks, if so.
Also, any help with the crash-on-newgame with the latest snapshot would be appreciated (v1.2 works fine for me, but cant start a new game with 1.4..)

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
This MOD does so much cool stuff! I would recommend changing its name from the rather deceptive "Keyring MOD" to something a little more eye grabbing - like "The Official Exult Ultima 7 Enhancement Pack" or something.

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
It is always a possibility. I've kept the name as the "Keyring" mod because it all began with the addition of the keyring to BG.I would recommend changing its name from the rather deceptive "Keyring MOD" to something a little more eye grabbing

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
Marzo: I've finally started playing a game with the Keyring mod, and have a question about your use of ExultStudio:
How were you able to get the initial game ("initgame.dat") correct after doing the map-editing? It's always seemed to me that ES has a serious flaw in that you have to start the game before you can use it, and that would cause the starting egg to hatch.

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
At first, I followed Alun Bestor's advice: start Exult with '--edit', create a new game and -- immediately after ES finishes loading due to '--edit' switch -- reload the map (File -> Reload -> Map) (you can also start Exult normally, enter map-edit mode manually and perform a map reload). Since you are in map-edit mode, this reload will restore the egg and prevent it from hatching. This map reload had to be done due to a bug that caused the initial egg to hatch before time were effectively stopped by map-editing mode.
Eventually, I fixed that bug so that you just have to start Exult with '--edit'.
And please do tell me what you think of the Keyring mod.

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
Speaking of the keyring mod... I noticed that Wikipedias entry on Ultima VII states the following, quote:
"The gameworld is known for its interactivity: almost everything can be taken, moved or interacted with in some fashion. It is possible, for instance, to bake bread, to forge weapons, to milk cows, to play musical instruments, and even to change a baby's swaddling..."
If anyone is good in writing and feels comfortable with editing Wikipedia, perhaps this sould be put more accurately.
To state the obvious, it should be mentioned that "milking cows" and some other interactivities are features of Exult running the keyring mod. And that "forging swords" is only possible once for the Isle of Fire expansion.
They way it is now, it reads like those things are possible in the original Ultima 7.

Re: Keyring mod- where to get?
Thanks. I was worried that it was more of a pain. Actually, it sounds like it was but that you fixed it.
I'm still playing in Trinsic, so I haven't noticed the changes yet. But after playing the same game so many times, I'm looking forward to seeing the enhancements.
