Hi, I felt this would be better expressed in a specific thread...

With the keyring mod, now that the shrines actually have a use, it would be really cool to publish an update that scatters the runes; stones, and lenses around Britannia; instead of them being conveniently located in the museum...

Right now I feel like i'm walking into a Best Buy with one stop shopping for all my Avatar adventuring needs... (an argument could be made that since thievery is so rampant in the land that someone broke into the museum and stole the items..) Batlin up to his old tricks perhaps through a lackey? It'd make things much more interesting; especially if we learn that it happened just as word began to spread that the Avatar was back in town.) The curator could just say there was a sudden mass theft for no disernable reason and has no idea who did it... That would also make a wonderful side quest to find who was responsible as well...

Obviously originally there was no need for the runes since the shrines were useless. The lenses were equally worthless for that matter without FOV; so the idea of the completely intact museum collection on the part of the world builders at the time was understandable...

Another idea; Make the silver horn usable again.. Perhaps for the shrine of humility so it eliminates either daemons or some other high level random creature spawn again.. (why would that attribute have been lost since U4 other than it becoming irrelevant to the worldbuilders in later ultimas...) Wouldn't the dameon guard have wanted to protect it from any other would be avatar candidates that didn't prove themselves up to the task?

If not for the shrine, then perhaps another purpose altogether?

Any thoughts?

Almost forgot... another idea, would it be possible to tie the shrine quests to a stat or skill increase after completion? Ala ultima v?

I like the idea. If the fellowship is behind it, the runes could be hidden inside fellowship halls or in the homes of certain fellowship members. After someone drops you a clue that the fellowship might be involved, you would have a reason to attend the meetings to find out who the members are and stalk them to see were they live and work.

TDI.. That's a cool twist to the idea... Definately gotta be a fellowship based theft.. And certainly a much better reason to attend the meetings other than simply joining the organization.. Maybe the conversation threads of the members during the meetings could give vague clues about the items their hiding.. Someone accidently lets slip something that's derogatory about the 8 virtues or something. Batlin or other branch leaders giving them a dirty look... Hmmm... Maybe for some of the items (especially the lenses) you would even have to have the Cube in your possession to get them to fess up to where they are hidden...

I REALLY like this idea. It sounds like the beginning of a great mod. I'd however prefer it remained a separate mod (as in a mod that uses the keyring mod as a base) and then adds to it as in like: Scattered Items + Keyring Mod.

And it would be cool to finally have the Cube have a much more prominent use in the game (I always felt that was such a lost opportunity) in that it was only used for one thing.

Here's a twist that I'd like to see.. Being able to use the cube on Batlin himself as part of this mod.. Force him to tell the unvarnished truth for once...

I'd rather make use of the kilrathi ship. Make it beam the avatar on board, start to fly off the screen, map change to a star map, fly a bit, throw the avatar off a rock, let him find a laser sword through some quest or Aliens interactions ;)

And in BG Keyring, more about Weston, so that after freeing him you can meet him in Paws and not only his wife knows about his freedom

Not a bad idea; perhaps include a scene where Arcadion offers to allow the player to bind to that sword as well....

I will bind to this sword (shade blade) if thou dost wish it master; but there is another; far greater instrument of death waiting for me to bind to if thou didst only have it in thy possession... The choice is yours; oh master of infinite destruction... (The Daemons voice fades; dripping with sarcasm...)

Perhaps give Arcadion additional powers in his list that he can use; maybe along the lines of "Paralyze", "Death Bolt".. Or "Seance" to talk to the newly deceased... The power would only work on those specifically dispatched by Arcadion however... and even then, only those with something relevant to say... That's something the player would have to figure out on his own...

It would be interesting to have a mod where the museum was ransacked. Perhaps the Fellowship went on a cultural revolution as well, trying to destroy what Britannians believed in and institute their own beliefs. Or even a post-BG pre-SI mod that takes place within the 18 months before SI where Fellowship sympathizers break into the museum (with the help of the woman there maybe) and steal the runes, etc.

Having Weston finding a job somewhere would have been a good end to that sidequest. I remember a long time ago always finding him near the Yew cemetery after finishing that sidequest... probably some glitch. I could never talk to him either, and it appeared his z level was '5' so I couldn't interact with him. I assumed he was looking for work, but had no clue as to why he was in the friggen air...

Yes on the Kilrathi ship! That would be awesome being able to fly around Britannia on that thing. You probably could play with the magic carpet code and do that.
