Is there a way to have exult send sound effects to midi (like the original game)? I've actually got an old MT-32 (actually a CM-32L) hooked to my PC, so it seems silly to use digital sounds.
I'd just play in DosBox, but I prefer some of Exult's niceties.

No, sorry. If you compile Exult yourself and use a file from SI you could but especially for BG it never worked well.

For SI, it can "easily" be done -- SI uses xmidi SFX, so it is just a matter of writing the appropriate code. For BG, however, things aren't as pretty -- most SFX stuff is hard-coded in the original engine.
