Saving problem in Mnts of Freedom

I'm in the mountains of freedom., and I have a saving problem. For the majority of my journey everything was going fine, but as soon as I get past the room with all the levers, eveytime I try to save the game shuts down and goes to my desktop. When I start my game again, although I am in the place where I just saved, the game was never actually saved.
I had this problem in BG and you guys told me to go back to an old savegame. That worked. However, now even if I go back to my oldest savegame it doesn't work!! Please help me, I don't want to start over!!
Hopefully this can all be solved with a simple snapshot I already have today's.

I guess the problem was just in the Mnts of Freedom. I tried going through the whole thing without saving, and when I got out there was no longer a problem. this is a little weird because I had tried doing that before and I saved as soon as I got out and the it still shut down. I guess it was just a fluke.
I've saved a few times since then and everything has been working fine. Now I save a lot more often, and I tend to hold my breath every time I save.

Do you have a savegame from just before it started to crash? Others have had this same problem, and it's one I'd really like to fix.

I had the exact same problem in the Mts. of Freedom. I also had it in Shamino's castle in Batlin's room.

sorry, I already saved over the game that had the problem.
I'll be sure to bring it up if it happens again.

Well, I don't know if I fixed your bug, but I did fix a bug in Mtns. of Freedom that sometimes would cause a hang a little time after you acquired the Black Sword. It involved an NPC dying just as one of his items was being transferred to you.

So far, though, none of us has been able to get a crash just past the lever puzzle.
