the nice thing with exult is that you can have the game running and still look at the menual that came with the game. That always bothered me in the Dos-days with my "complete u7" that had the manual only in pdf-form.
But back on topic, the questions that the monk asks are asked to give some copyprotection. Only owners of the game with manual should be able to answer these questions.

well, if you answered it wrong, just start a new game and you'll have another chance.

and there are finite answer choices, so the hard way to do it could be just to write down the question, what you answered, and if it was wrong or right.

Eventually you either guess lucky (and write it down so you remember the answer), or guessed all the wrong answsers and finally get to the right answser.

Q1) You need the manual to answer the questions, so the answers won't go in the game.

Q2) Uh, a door? Look for keys, lockpicks, etc. Otherwise, hit the door.

Q3) Don't kill NPCs. You cannot complete the game now (same boat I'm in, I admit). The key doesn't sell for much, go find some gold if you ever need any! You can't enter the catacombs without buying the key from Julia, and you can't buy the key if she's dead.

They only sell the bibration magic.
So I killed to know what who got,

Use the hackmover to move the door out of your way.

That way, even if you can no longer buy the key, you can get past.

Uh, press F2 on your keyboard, then the H key, then the ESC key. You may now move ANY item, such as doors.

Press F2 then H then ESC to turn the hack mover off again. Moving walls and stuff around by accident gets annoying quickly.

As to the password questions (copy protection), UseCode can be rewritten to bypass the questiions and flag you as legitimate.
With the original game, I hexed the UseCode and wrote the answer to each question OVER a section of the question since like most legitimate users find copy protection a real pain in the butt, even though I have more than 1 copy of the manual.
I have both the CD and the Floppy Versions of these.
