Resolution question

Post by Freak »

Hi,

I have a question about the resolution of Exult.
As I plan on buying a LCD-monitor, those monitors don't support resolutions below 640x400 AFAIK.
As I want to play Ultima 7 with Exult the way it originally looked, how can I adjust the resolution and scaler-settings that it will look like the original when run on the LCD-monitor with 640x400? Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

when you run Exult with scale 2 (any scaler) and the original resolution it is effectively 640x400.

I think he wants aspect ratio correction, too.

My laptop will do any sub 640 res thrown at it. Mind though, it really looks like arse. BLOCKY. It's a 14.1" screen that is made for 1024x768.

I do suggest to run with the 2x scaler instead of trying for the absolute original look. I found though that the 400x300 option with 2x scaler is very nice, and still keeps everything in perspective. Like you won't see "hidden" events happen due to a large res.

I had it running and looking like the original on my laptop using the point scaler. Just had to muck about with the resolution size in the cfg files. If I use my laptop today, I'll look up the settings and post them.
