Forge of Virtue Problem

Post by Jase »

I'm currently doing the test of love, and am unable to draw blood from the tree. I set the bucket down beside the tree, hit the tree with my pick, and nadda.. no blood.

I've also been unable to free the demon from the mirror when attacking it with the gem in hand. My "Can't Program Worth a Damn" theory is that somehow Exult isn't understanding that these 2 items (tree and mirror) are attackable, and should be doing something when attacked..

Any suggestions?

Holy crap, I suck..

I figured it out.. I needed to double click my pick, then click on the tree.. I feel so dumb right now.. *laugh*

hehe, no worries. I did that the first few times I played through that part of the game (getting blood from the tree). You'd think I would have remembered after the first time, but noOoOo.

I remember in the mid 1990s when I played the original game - just one more time - that I got so frustrated about that pick and that tree, that I thought my game was corrupted and I just stopped playing!

If it was easy, possibly alter the engine to be more liberal in what counts as a hit with the pick on the BLASTED ROCK..wasted 3 hours.... *mumble* :]

That's sort of the point. You need to click on the tree, not the rock. ;) I made that mistake several times, then thought, 'Hmm wonder what happens if I click on the tree instead'. The only reason it works on the rock at all is because one of the trees roots runs down it.
