Aaaargh I got all the way to the end of the i386 compile and it died putting together the ogg/vorbis stuff at the very end.. I found out the other day that a standard default SDL install makes universal libs (but not the dynamic ones) so I should be all good there using the static library configurat...

Works great so far. Just finished a build 4 mins ago and opened it up and made sure no crashes when clicking on the inventory and disk icons and whatnot.. Alrighty.. I think its finally time to give it up and let Dominus have at it hehe. Im thinking you simply cant compile an x86 binary on a PPC mac. I gave Exult a go today, and my regular static PPC build works fine. I renamed it to exult-ppc and exported all the proper CFLAGS and LDFLAGS and whatnot...

Latest snapshot working fine under 10.5 PPC YAY!
Although now that I started setting up Macports it appears I cant build smpeg for whatever reason so I cant install the SDL-Mixer..
Fink is still working but guess I wont be able to make all those nice universal binaries on my end in Macports..

Well to start since youre using a MacBook with an Intel cpu you should be using the 1.4 snapshots instead..
I think the crash is related to the music/sfx.. Ive seen info about it somewhere before.. One of the devs would know more..

Yeah you dont even need to bother with the installers like Dominus said.
All those do is run batch files that copy the game folders over to your hard drive.
If you really wanna 'keep it real' you can mount the cd in DOSBox and run it there. Pretty sure it had a DOS installer as well..

Yeah update to 10.4 or stick with the older 1.2 release of Exult and follow the documentation that comes with it. Were having enough trouble getting the snapshots to work on Tiger, no one is developing for OS 10.3 anymore.. I was technically since Im still on 10.4 but I could never make a static bin...

And go figure, after just noticing that I was no longer getting the Dead USB Controller messages, I just swapped my keyboard and lo and behold the port that was dead just a couple days ago works again... Gameplay seems to be working fine however... If you double click your character and open up his paperdoll window..
