I would recommend checking out paperdol_info.txt in Marzo's Keyring Mod since he did this very thing for Mariah to make he joinable.
The mod of course is for the Black Gate.

Some mentioned characters obviously do not exist.
Octavius is not among the Black Gate NPCs.
This name also does not appear in UseCode.

For the heck of it, open up the Exult.cfg and find out where it thinks the games are installed. Black Gate : not found (.\static\endgame.dat) Serpent Isle : not found (.\static\sispeech.spc) These 2 should be in the static folders of their respective games, being they are part of the original Ultima...

Keep in mind that any item set to 0 in weight will no be movable in a normal game other than things in containers.

Sounds like a good idea to me, especially since the complete install with both games can fit on one of those keyring "fob" sized USB "plug in drives.

Hmm. In SI, Iolo, Shamino, and Dupre are also dropping the wrong bodies in an unmodded game.

Invisible ones in Shamino, and Dupre's cases.

Base BG install lacks the Keyring customs, yet shows these "corpse" errors.
No Keyring files in there at all, no mods either. Yet corpses are still the wrong one.
Iolo just dropped an invisible corpse with a pink outline in a game with no mods at all.

On a side note, I have been seeing the wrong body shapes appear in corpses in the game and in modded games, in some cases this means no body visible to loot, which can be a real show stopper if you need something off a dead liche.

Tested this with Spark too in a normal game. Same corpse body error.

I do not know why this is, but the Laurianna and Mariah characters in the Keyring mod crash the current Exult when accessing their paperdolls.

I am stumped.

NPC with Shape 1024 (Black Gate in this particular case) seems to be crashing exult in this newest snap, no idea why.

Had her working nice before this current one.

On another note, any ideas why attempting to look at the NPCs in the Keyring mod in the Studio crashes the Studio?

Never mind, it seems tied to the default of having Audio turned on at install.

Game quits normally with the audio to off.
No idea why the audio would be an issue on a machine with SB Compatibility though.

Is anyone else having this bug with the newest build of the Exult game engine?
Its occurring in both Black Gate and Serpent Isle.
No error text is generated. At least not in std_err.txt by this prob.

Barges fly now, but if one is using a ship, or a "carpet", the craft only seems able able to do a 180 degree rotation, not a 90 degree one when elevated. (z != 0).

At z = 0, the facings work correctly on the craft.

Entrance to the place where the Fellowship has built this Black Gate is east from where the the Codex Shrine is on south end of the Isle of the Avatar.

A blackrock key opens the locked doors to into the Codex area, and the door to the remaining dungeon.

The Engine UseCode Function needs a rewrite to work in Exult, they made no allowance for other engines. A quality check for Quality 1 would point to the Mayor's Barge. I have the same error Jeff Oakley is experiencing with Karnax freezing up like his usecode is jamming in his throat.

This sequence worked in earlier Exult releases with both the original and the modified UseCode which I use.

Karnax freezes no matter which is loaded.

As to the password questions (copy protection), UseCode can be rewritten to bypass the questiions and flag you as legitimate.
