sorry, getting back to it.
As long as you keep your games and the patch/mods folders uninstall and reinstalling will not nuke your work. UNLESS you are working on the Exult mods (BG Keyring, SIfixes, SF Island), for these you might need to take precautions.

I'm sorry, the more I looked into it, the worse it gets.
First, the error message is indeed caused by us messing with the manifest file, but then many dlls are not compatible with XP anymore. So even if we fix that and you use only XP compatible dlls, this will not end well.

Thanks! We were asked to make an all-in-one installer but as we‘ve been around now for a while this seemed very wasteful (with snapshots being released on each day that new code gets pushed).
Being able to just add these as downloadable „modules“ was a good alternative and I like that much more.

As it’s not really useful for playing we have only some few defaults for game area. And the defaults for the resolutions were capped with a commit and reported as a bug by me in https://github.com/exult/exult/issues/105 What you can also use is game area=auto this will/should use the full resolution...

No that should work fine. I'll see if I can reproduce your problems and file a bug. Thanks for testing and reporting back. This really helps! We changed some stuff because of the Android port since 1.8 and it seems to cause problems for Windows versions of the snapshots.

Initgame.dat is required if you delete that a lot will not work.
Have you updated the keyring mod as well?

I think I got it now. It's the difference between /Library/... and ~/Library/... . You placed the mod data in ~/Library/Application Support/Exult/serpentisle/mods but it needs to be in /Library/Application Support/Exult/serpentisle/mods

If you have SI installed into /serpentisle then the mod needs to go into the mod folder of that, not serpent isle.
It’s only correctly installed if the mods menu option is there

As in that old bug I can reproduce it with your savegame but not when I get him killed again. It's curios that his job answer is the one from being in the party.
Do you know where he got killed and/or can you upload a savegame before he got killed?

That‘s gonna be a hatd task, merge the usecode files, meaning all the single usecode stuff in the mods‘ sources and then go about merging the graphics but that’s gonna be much harder as they will likely take the same spots. Then manually changing the map, adding the NPCs etc.

The telescope is fixed in Exult master code for iOS, so by extension for the Android port as well. I hope some other developer of Exult can look through the changes and soon greenlight a merge!

This lead me to - compare with the original and realize that the fire fields need a burn mark on the floor - realize that the fire fields the liches create were off (crazy flashing flickering) -> tried some code which Marzo did correctly :) Which only made us realize...

I've looked into it and monsters shouldn't be able to teleport or summon something without line of sight. I wrote a quick fix that really needs a second opinion :)

The snapshots are automatically released nightly (when there were code changes) on github, but need to be manually copied over…
