need help with studio

arrrgh. took mi ages to figure out how to start up studio. now i have a new problem. i can edit the map now but i cant seem to be able to save the changes.

i ran exult.exe and then selected "black gate" then "journey onwards"
then i typed ctrl-alt-m. exult studio started up. i am able to do stuff like drag chunks onto the map and edit the terrain, but i cant save the changes.

i tried going to "file" option in studio, then "save all". this closed my exult program. i started it up again and "journey onwards". but i found my changes to terrain have not been saved. next i tried saving a game in exult after editing the terrain. then i closed exult and started it up again. i loaded the savegame and it threw mi out.

can someone please teach mi how to save changes to the map. thnx.

Ahh its very simple! The map file is saved in your /patch directory, just so you won't have your actual map file re-written.
Or atleast its that way for me :)

its not that simple for mi. =( actually a patch directory was created by studio. but its totally empty. in any case how do you load the game that has the changes?

I lost it myself :( Its not so simple anymore, well if the patch directory had the map file in it, you'd copy the map file to your static directory.

I think if you have a patch directory, you put that directory into the exult.cfg file under the branch, and it takes over from there. No need to overwrite any files

Consider it a addition instead of a correction :)
Now back on topic...I put a map from the patch directory to the serpent isle static directory and it was fudged up, all different chunks...why?
