Very nice. I'm not sure I recognize any of the textures, which I think is good.

Heh yes. I've got no 3d artist so right now we're using md2 porting to our format.
Did I mention that I've got no 3d artist?

What'd you use to do this...

What I used? It's my 3d engine, currently still under minor developement but basically done. We're trying to assemble a small demo of the Rpg game we're gonna write next year.
The Ultima7 graphics are wonderful. REalistic graphics are bad if you've not a VERY powerful engine with detail texturing, multitexture, etc.etc. So I am trying to port them to textures I can use to recreate U7like environments.
But unluckily, as Artaxerxes points out ... ahem.... (cough cough), well, you know that ; )

hehe, well, regardless, they look really good.
Seeing U7 graphics in 3D reminds me of the whole U7 in 3D forum debacle a while ago... lol
Anyways I wish you luck in your project! I look forward to seeing some stuff in action

Wow, I'm inspired, I'm setting out to form my own engine.
*loads up dev C*
Maybe I could just set out for a U7 map viewer in 3D right now...

Ignitus, what if...uhm...instead of restarting everything from scratch, you could contribute to our project?

Depends on what you need help on, I'm not great at programming, at the moment I'm doing the story line, history and some other junk for the ULTIMA 10 remake project, we were going to use the Exult engine but thats undecided as of yet. We've got massive amounts of history done already though, four worlds are being included in the game, Feluccia, Trammel, Serpent Isle and Britannia. The project leader (Arizail Dragon if anyone knows him) is slacking off a bit because hes a dope-fiend but I'm still working on it, plus I'm building up a Ultima fan-site and I've not even really progressed in that yet.
So I'm a bit busy, but of course I'd love to help with your project, perhaps I could try my hand at digital art, or in-game text, or whichever.

I thought Feluccia and Trammel were the names of the two moons of Britannia.
Can you comfirm/infirm ?

Confirmed, we're having the moons in the game. Arizail has been obsessing over Feluccia & Trammels history rather alot lately.
The game is set after Ultima 8 (we're pretending Ultima 9 didn't exist).

Honestly, Felucca and Trammel are the worst things they put into Ultima Online
It's the reason I quit..

Yeah the PK/Non PK is kinda stupid, I've not played U0 but I can see the inconsistancies in Feluccia(spelling?) and Trammel.
This game will not be multiplayer, therefore it'll have a large landmass for exploring. I'd love to have a U8 style engine but with updates, such as sitting. *prepares to borrow a line from Darke* - *grin*

Huh? I don't know anything about UO but Felucca and Trammel were part of Ultima long before it.

I belive Felucca and Trammel were introduced as alternative worlds in Ultima 5? I never played it so I don't know.

Yeah ignitus (sorry for the delay): digital art is the answer.
In particular, the delicate process of porting the walls and ground tiles to textures, which we accomplish with a simple tool, but then needs a lot of photoshop reworking...
3D would be all anoter -sigh- subject....

Well its not a remake of Ultima 10, its just a remake of the series, incorporating U7 with U8 and other stuff.
U10 has not be released. Being that this is set after U8- you could consider it U9. *mind hazes over from the possibilities*
Anyway, this is a very long ranged plan, Arizail says he'll spend the rest of his life on this project if it takes that long. He's known to be quite a stoner so maybe...no nevermind, I'll remain optimistic.
