Combat fixes...

There are a couple combat bugs fixed in the 1.00 daily snapshot (probably today's, for sure tomorrow's):
1. Party members will always attack the Avatar's enemies, so they'll no longer stand around when the guards are killing you.
2. Party members with 'range' weapons (i.e., Iolo) will be more likely to fire instead of running around aimlessly. The bug here was most evident when fighting big monsters like dragons.

ya know what could be kinda cool...granted you are up for it...
if monsters get within town, the guards actually attack it...instead of standing around acting like it is just another everyday event...
guard1: aww...the cyclops is attacking again
guard2: wanna get a beer?

That IS a good idea. It would probably go in the 'new development' version if I work on it.

I always wondered about that as well.
When I first got u7 all those years ago, I was almost dead and had a guy with a halberd following me, I decided I'll run into britain and let the guards help me.
How wrong I was. I ran around the whole town and the guards just stood there while this maniac wanted to finish me with a huge arsed halberd.

Guard 2: *between sips of ale* "Damn, 'ee's quite the bugger eh?"
Avatar:"Uh guys could you help me here, this major-mondo-huge-assed dragon is approaching the city and I have to save the village people!"
Guard 1:"'ee's gay, wots the likes of that? A gay avatar eh?"
Avatar:"No really, I mean-" *pause for legendary dragon crunch sound*
Guard 2:*frowns*
Guard 1:"How 'bout a mikes hard lemonade?"
Guard 2:"Sure!" *grin*

I never knew mikes hard was around in u7, but then again the avatar musta brought it over
Avatar: Hey guys while I am running around like a pansy because I attacked a fox and its going to kill me you guys better take my Mikes Hard Lemonade.
Guard1: Thanks Avatar we will continue standing here and watch you get killed.
Guard2: Its getting dark I think I will turn the lights on.

Once again, the doors are more important than the Avatar's safety,
see my post in another thread about Iolo getting lost in an open door while I floundered aimlessly in a cavern full of monsters...
