Hello,

first i would like to say "thanks" to the people who created Exult. Its lots of fun playing Ultima VII again. This time on my Linux box.

Unluckily i ran into problems in => "Fawn". Besides i dont really like the Fawn story line it seems extremely buggy. When i entered Fawn the first time i had to switch off sound otherwise the game would crash when Iolo would play the lute during the first storm on first arrival.

Then, after i met the healer/herbalist to get a cure for beeing poisened, and the healer gave me the letter for Ruggs, Ruggs had been nowhere to be found. He just disapeared. I tried to find him but to no avail and then continued the plot line.

Now i finished Moonshade, have the blackrock and try to do the (lame) Fawn Quest. In Fawn Kale attacks me but i never get an invitation to the throne room.

Anyone has an idea on how to either get the Fawn plot to continue (i.e. trigger the Throne Room Invitation which leads to Dupre beeing imprisoned) or should i just try to obtain the Crystal Rose of Love by cheating? (what would be the best way to do it)

I do have old save games but i would need to go back to the beginning and trash around 40 hours of playtime. So thats not really an option.

I am using Exult 1.5 SVN from about end of June 2014 with the GoG version of Serpent Isle.

Yes we need a savegame. What system was this on?
I just played through Fawn without crashes...

i actually did finally find "Ruggs" at the spot NW of Fawn at the coast where all the folks from Batlins crashed ship are hanging around. Unluckily it didnt helped giving him the letter for the plot in fawn to progress.

The scripted assination attempt in fawn is happening but but the Dinner never takes place and therefore Dupre is never arrested.

I solved the problem buy going from Monitor to Cat-Isle, take all the needed artifacts from the cave and then directly entered the dream-world from there (accidently with all of my companions).

After this the game worked like expected until sometime after the release of the banes. Now its crashing after i solved the quest of the temple of ethics. After the conversation with the automaton ends. Heres what i can see on the command-line:

Hi,

i just solved the problem with the crash at the end of the quest of ethics: I switched the sound off. I had this problem like 2-3 times before.

Do you still would like to have a fawn save game?

A savegame would be nice to check back with other linux users. Can you give more details on your system, OS, did you compile it yourself and if you did, did you need to do any customizations?
