Situation on the U7BG paperdolls?

Yeah, I'm back again, and this time *drum roll*
I finally have an updated version of photoshop! Expect lots of new paperdolls, soon! I'll also redo the spike shield, greaves, and ankh so that they don't look messed up.
Anyhow, are there any nre paperdoll pieces since I left?

Also, what's the coordinates for the flickering colors for the white in:
pink
yellow
magenta
orange
and blue glows? It still appears as Red, blue, and green 255....

I've made the green top, sparkly blue dress, orange dress, and shoes, and I tried making a hawk. I havn't submitted any of them to the team yet (wanted to "tweak" them but no free time).

Great! I'd like you to send them to me so I can see if I can make any improvements as soon as I figure out the whole indice thing.

Nevermind, it seems that the colors are different for the glowing whites (i.e. they're not truly white) Anyway, SB-X, for your hawk paperdoll, you DID include a leather glove, didn't you? Because, you know, you REALLY don't want a bird of prey on your bare arm....
Oh, yeah, send them to me at
bob4lawn@qwest.net!

Like I said, they really aren't finished, but I went ahead and put them on the web if anyone wants to look now. Some information -
Top, dresses: mostly complete and not needing improvement except for the outlines. I was going to go over the frames and remove/add/soften the black borders in different frames depening on how it looked. (This goes for the arms on the shirt especially)
Shoes: that's where I stopped... and they kinda look like small brown sacks right now. I was going to pick up there when I had the time and make them more defined.
As for the hawk... I just "tried" to start a hawk, I didn't actually work on it... so no, I didn't include a leather glove.
I still want to fix this stuff up and get the team to consider it if people think they are OK. I'll probably do it before v1 comes out so you don't *need* to improve them, but help or suggestions are welcome. View at -

Well, those are a bit different than what I pictured... With the exception of the hawk, those will all do for the time being (save that they need some outlining) Aside from lack of outlines, they're certainly no worse than the cleaver or Katrina's Locket.... Okay, I need some help with something.... I forgot how to change the U7o files into Shp files..... (I think I remember the splitshape part, though) Can somebody run by me how to change the U7o files into Shp files again for me?

What file/frame is Katrina's Locket in?
In the GIMP you can just save the file as a SHP type (if the plug-in is installed). I thought it would be the same with the PS plug-in.

Just rename .u7o files to .shp

Oops, I should read what I'm responding too. I thought Oblivious asked how to save work done in PS. I guess that is well known, so please ignore my comment.

"Just rename .u7o files to .shp"
Oh, yeah......
And actually, there is ONE part of the splitshp thing that I can't remember....
What's the command line on the prompt to get Splitshp to work?
I did the "c:\SERPENT\tools\splitshp.exe" part, and then it says "Use: to split or merge shapes"
then it goes back to "C:\Windows". I can't remember what to do next, here.... Can somebody help me?

Oblivious: see the splitshp documentation at
http://exult.info/splitshp.txt
sB-X: looks good, save for the Hawk(which has some really weird corrupted palette)...

I still can't get it to work. I enter the syntax
c:\SERPENT\tools\splitshp
then
c:\SERPENT\static splitshp 41.shp
and it says 'cannot open 41.shp'

is there a shape 41.shp in static?
Also the syntax is wrong. It should be:
"C:\serpent\tools\splitshp c:\serpent\static\41.shp"

Okay, here's what I have so far. I'm hoping the colors all work correctly (esp. for the firesword):
*corrected Ankh
*corrected spike shield
*corrected greaves
*gray cloak
*green cloak
*improved Jaana head
*firesword

Might I put in a request for the Death Scythe?
And, after perusing the documentation AND the FAQ (doing a search for "paper", more precisely), I haven't found any documentation on how to actually make paperdoll art. Is this written down somewhere? It'd be fun to at least play around with making my own paperdoll art.
Any direction you can point me to the how-to would be nice.

I plan to get to the death scythe eventually. These are the ones on my to-do list:
*improve the dress
*improve the shiny dress
*improve shoes
*tunic
*throwing axe
*magic throwing axe
*death scythe
*pants
*pants
*pants
*Leather Collar
*Main Gauche
*Firewand (I will include this in the finished pack when I send it.)
*Improved Sentri head
*Geoffrey and Mariah heads, just for fun
*Heavy Cloak
*knife
*improve the cleaver (it currently looks like somebody ran over it with a tractor several times)
*hood 1
*hood 2
I got a looooong way to go.....
And to answer your questions, Cheshire: You will need experience in Photoshop or Gimp. Make copies of the U7o files and change them to .shp files (just rename them) You'll also need to d/l the photoshop plugin. Keep in mind that U7 only supports certain colors.

Ok, that doesn't sound all that terribly heinous. I'll see what I can do, poke around with them and see what I get.
Once I've made one and turned it into a shp file, it's down to a matter of doing my own build and telling it to include my own graphics (which looks to be fairly straightforward), right?
Are there any particular colors I should be aware of? You were asking about glow colors near the beginning of this thread.
Thanks again,
Chesh

Yes, the colour ranges at the end of the palette are rotating, to produce the glowing magic/fire/poison effects. You should avoid the colours there for normal objects.

It's actually not as easy as it sounds, Cheshire. The improved Jaana head I created (though haven't sent yet) I had been working on for about a month, if not more (would've been easier if you could see the rest of Jaana's hair in her portraits...) Paperdolls that merely included pallette swaps I managed rather quickly, however. Keep in mind, however, that most of the palette swap paperdolls have already been done. I can probably do the handle for the Death Scythe before I turn the new stuff in, though I'm not going to touch the blade just yet.

Okay, I'm starting to get sidetracted on other things again, so I'm just going to send what I have to Exult Studio right now.

Please e-mail them to me. I'll integrate them into Exult ASAP.

Yes, I got them. I've been away most of the weekend though, so I haven't had time to integrate them yet. I'll do it tonight.
They look great, btw. Thanks.

By "monday night" I clearly meant "wednesday afternoon"
Anyway, they're in now, and look great. Thanks again Oblivious.
Btw, you still haven't replied to my question if you would like your real name listed in the Exult credits instead of 'Oblivious'

Hmmmm.... No, I don't think so, though you might want to put 'Oblivious/Hyena of Ice' instead (Hyena is my screen name on most other boards.)

I think this one rotates between yellow and red:
H 54
S 74
V 98
R 252
G 236
B 64

No, the one I am speaking of rotates between yellow and orange. You can see it on the potion you get after the thunderstorm. I also need the one that alternates between red, yellow, and blue (magic sword, death scythe)

Sounds like ExultStudio could use another feature...
