Is there any way to resurrect an NPC essential to the quest that you accidently killed, say, Torriso-? I killed him to get Philanderer's Friend when he took it from me, I got desperate!

Black Gate of Serpent Isle?

Black Gate: Take to healer or Lord British.

Serpent Isle: Take to healer ?I think?

In SI, nobody can be "legally" resurrected except those who can be or have been members of your party. So that is a no for Torrissio.

In the original version, you could teleport to the House of the Dead, pick him up and bring him back to Moonglow (though you'd have an extra dead body on your hands). But I don't think the House of the Dead is available in the Exult version. So I'm not sure what to tell you. Is it possible to bring him back by changing his NPC flag? That never worked in the original version.

Tip: Casting vibrate on him will get you the wand back.

It seems when an NPC dies in SI, they go to coordinates 4000 something by 4000 something, which is off the map. You can change his schedule and flags and to bring him back, I think. But I'm not sure if that will work.

And I really wish the Exult team would bring back the House of the Dead in both BG and SI, and I think others do too.

You can go there, but I don't if they go there when they die or not. I think it is temporary placement for NPC's before they are actually used in the coding of Exult. It is, however, there exactly like in the original. Look on the warp map (F3), and you will see it on the top left in a small black looking spot. It's looping, so 4000,4000 would go over the map about four times and complete at the beginning of the map at 0,0 again. If that's wrong, that is at least how the warp map works. That may not be how it works in cooridates.

By the way, Alexander, he corrected himself right after he posted the first message. You shouldn't post random insulting lingo on these forums. Please be more serious than slander on future posts.

Thanks for sticking up for newbies like rustool, BytheSword.

The map is 3072x3072, and it doesn't loop.

(4095,4095) is just the maximum coordinates that can be stored in the amount of bits used for locations.

They go there when they die and before they've been placed.
Same as in U7BG/FV.

Setting the dead flag to alive worked in the original just fine, however you have to remember that when they die they often get the sleep flag set to them, on top of having a very low negative hitpoints. So if you just toggle the dead flag off, you'd have to bring them up to positive hitpoints and wake them up as well.

No, try clicking off the side of the map, like I said. You wil be warped the same distance from when you click off the left or right side into the same distance on the opposite side (inward, of course).

That's because the world itself is wrapped. The coordinates are _not_ wrapped.
