Pack space bug

I've noticed that if you go to buy something from a merchant and you cannto carry what you are buying, they will drop the item on the ground and never charge you for it!!!
This also works if you have gold bars and you attempt to change them, they will drop gold piles on the ground for as many times as you attempt.
I filed a report in the bug section.

You attached an exe file... are you mad? Only 1 of the Exult developers (myself) use Windows.
Normal ZIP files only please.
Note, that Exult now automaticallly compresses savegames.

yeah, and for getting free gold there is already a nice cheat in exult so maybe this is more worht being fixed than being exploitable
(nothing wrong with cheating, though, I´m always the first to cheat
)

Well, personally, I think cheating pretty much ruins a game - IF you haven't already beaten it, of course. Whenever I play through an RPG for the second time around, I usually take a peek at a walkthrough to find things I missed on my first time through. I think my first time through Ultima 7 wouldn't have been a lot of fun if my entire party had been equipped with Death Scythes and full magical armor right from the start.

Geez, I was just kidding. Didn't mean to spark a cheating debate.
In any case, I find that I usually only cheat during a game when I'm
stuck at some point, and want to transform into The Disgusting Embodiment
of Anti-Virtue and murder entire towns free of punishment.
That, or if the game is unbelievably damned hard, like Milon's Secret
Castle on the NES.

Speaking of which - is it just me, or are games in general much easier these days?

Hell Yeah Milon's secret castle, that was only the best game ever

It's a combination of them being easier, and us being older and better
at them. Also a large part of them being easier is that the controls are
a lot easier to use, more fluid, more responsive, etc. A combination of
all these factors more or less makes games easier.
But for the most part, yes, games are easier these days. Try playing
any MMX game and then go play the original Megaman again.

i have to agree with you. super mario brothers was so hard for me. the other day my cousin game over with the gameboy version and i beat it through without any warps and never having to continue. But it wasn't fun anymore

This bug has been closed in the bug tracker with no more information added. Does this mean it is fixed?

It means I tried to fix it, but couldn't verify without a savegame:-)

I did supply a zip file save game right at a merchant with sufficient gold.

Cool (I'm at work and would have otherwise tested it myself).
