IRIX port

Hello everybody!

Last week I scrolled through the linux-games-HOWTO and found your project there. Since I had enjoyed the Ultima series very much once and never played Ultima VII, I decided to pick up a used game copy at eBay and give exult a try.

I was very amazed about how active the exult community is, covering such an old game. I was not so amazed, however, to see that there is no SGI IRIX port, so I took the freedom to start one this weekend.

The sourcecode compiled, after installing a newer version of libpng and working around some minor libstdc++-peculiarities of IRIX. For the time being, I let out sound support, though.

Unfortunately, I was not able to test anything, because I still have to wait for delivery of my Ultima VII copy, but stay tuned for more news.

My system:
SGI Octane
IRIX 6.5
gcc-3.0

Thanks,
Tilmann

See everyone? Documented proof that you CAN find a copy of Ultima VII without having to ask for pirating, hehe. I applaud you Tilmann ;)

LOL
But I'm glad Exult works on IRIX as well. Now can someone please do an Atari port? (SDL now has some Atari support in CVS so this may actually be doable).

I know you mean the Atari computer, but as soon as you said that, images of Doom 2600 flashed through my head. :)

You mean the AtariST? Too bad I sold mine about 10 years ago. Anyone remember a publisher named 'Haba'?

When is someone going to do an OS/2 port?
