Seven Towers?

I'm getting ready to play Ultima VII and want to use Exult but having a hard time finding all the mods. I was following a guide and it suggested installing the Keyring mod, Serpent Isle fixes and Avatar pack. The Seven Towers website appears to be gone so I was able to scrounge the Keyring mod and Avatar pack off the web but can't find the Serpent Isle fixes. Have these become incorporated into the Exult code-base and no longer needed?

The server that hosted both 7Towers and The feudal lands went down.
Marzo is looking into making these mods available again and adding some goodies to it...

Ah ok, good to know. Thanks for the quick response. I'll just hold off for now then and play Wasteland while I wait for the stuff to be made available again. Looking forward to play VII, been a while! Don't think I ever even finished it when it originally came out.

I have them all myself, though I'm not too sure if they're the latest versions. I can upload them all to my RPTools/HeroQuest host (might as well add another game) if you, and Marzo, would like.

Wait a moment, as I wrote Marzo added some things two days ago. So the newest is not yet available. Only he and me dien't have time to build a proper zip of these.

BG Keyring http://exult.info/snapshots/Keyring.zip
SI Fixes http://exult.info/snapshots/Sifixes.zip

Changes:
BG Keyring:
Marzo added the improved and awesome flying carpet which can be rolled up and carried around

SI Fixes:
When I last played SI I found it strange that Captain Hawk's ship has the ankh symbol sail. As the inhabitants of Serpent Isle hate Beast British that doesn't make sense. So Marzo got rid of the ankh :)

Actually, neither of these sites actually went down. I just haven't been able to renew the DNS. I had sponsored both as well as the hosting.

Some further explanation:
http://205.204.73.131/~tflca/

Marzo's site:
http://205.204.73.131/~marzo/

I just need to toss the domains on there once I get my CC fixed.

I mean domain, not DNS, rather. :)

Long day..

That is nice to know. But to add the list of problems, the CPanel interface is asking for a license now so I can't update it regardless :-).

That's ... odd. Let me check what's causing that, could be one of the addon's expired that tried to renew from my now-frozen credit card.

Try now Marzo: the cpanel license was bound to another IP than what cPanel was detecting as the servers main IP (it was actually detecting the router's IP)

thefeudallands.ca is registered and as soon as the DNS propgandates it should be okay.

Marzo, it looks like seventowers.org isn't available now, or at least that's what the registrar tells me, I'll keep an eye out as it's not registered so this likely means they haven't deleted the old domain registration, as soon as they do I can register it.

In the meantime, is seventowers.thefeudallands.ca okay?

Keyring and SI Fixes mods are out of date on Seven Towers. I'm not sure about Avatar pack.

Seems Marzo needed to set up his laptop first and didn't have time to update his files yet. So far the versions linked in this thread are the most up to date ones.

"Marzo added the improved and awesome flying carpet which can be rolled up and carried around"

A flying carpet that can be carried around? You've got to be kidding me. Why not make the player invulnerable and give him the ability automatically obtain any item he wants at any given moment while we're at it? Heck, just make it so that the cheat features are always enabled and integrate them into the main game.

kinda makes sense that one could roll up a carpet....

with someone inside no less!
and a bridge? ....

thanks to those who still work on Exult etcetera ;p

In response to a couple posts ago: Yes, clearly a mobile flying carpet is the unbalanced thing, and nothing from Forge of Virtue.

and a bridge? ....
you lost me there. What do you mean?

and yes a rollable carpet makes a lot of sense, not to mention that BG was the first and last time I saw a flying carpet with seats on it :)
(I'm glad that the U7 developers figured seatless transportation out for SI - imagine the turtle, or even worse, the ice raft, with seats :)).

@Wizardry: please don't feed it :)

It *is* a little iffy that you can roll the carpet up when items are on top of the carpet, probably should disallow it and flash BLOCKED. But Im sure Marzo's already thought of that and its on his todo list :)

Hey, you can think of the Avatar as being one hell of a magician that can pull the carpet from under all that junk on top of it :-)

That said, I will think of a way to handle this case.

@Dominus,

it was a vague allusion to what was likely already a vague allusion from the 'Simpsons' television show...something about rolling an animal up in a carpet and throwing it off a bridge.

I wish that the turtle had chairs;p and seatbelts. (double ;p)

btw, the graphic for that carpet looks pretty slick. thanks Marzo!

Again Wizardry seems to have misplaced Marzo's SevenTowers...

Newest of both mods can be found at
BG Keyring http://exult.info/snapshots/Keyring.zip
SI Fixes http://exult.info/snapshots/Sifixes.zip

for now...

Edit, seven towers seens to work after all. Probably just a hic hup on my side. Anyway the mods are newer here right now.
