Just would like to say thank you to the folks working on Pentagram. I just installed the latest OS X build and it runs like a gem. I've been waiting a couple of years to see it an OS X binary come out!
I can see that it's a WIP still, but the project has come a long way.. it's almost fully playable (dialogs are a bit hard to read because the text speed is too fast).
WM.

That's great to hear.
You can set the text speed with the 'textdelay' option. The default is 5, higher is slower.

Talking about Pentagram, I've always had this strange experience when playing Pagan and I wonder if anyone else has had this problem.
========= Minor Spoiler Alert ===========
To get to the sorcerer part you first have to cross the fiery lake. Once you're able to do so, Beren is there and -should- start talking to you about something. The first time I ever got there (I think it was on a friends PC) it went fine and Beren talked to me about something I cant remember anymore.
Okay, now every single time from then on, that conversation didn't work anymore. It simply failed to show up. I've made fresh installs and ran it on different PCs and every single time I played I couldn't get that to work anymore. I think the view just centered on Beren, he turned or moved a little, and that was it.
Does anyone know what is causing this? Maybe the guys hacking away at Pentagram know of this problem?
I`ve seen a similiar thing happen a few times now on the execution scene, where some dialoge, mostly from Mordea, simply fail to show up. What really bugs me is, that it actually worked once.
Just thought I'd ask here cause this has been bugging me for so long...

Are you referring to the original U8 or Pentagram?
I can't recall exactly, but I do remember that conversation with Beren to be rather problematic, even in the original U8. It very often triggered at the wrong time/place.

I suggest checking out Korba Kai's page on Ultima 8, it's a very through dissection of the game:

And yes, the bit you're describing is a bug. It means that you talked to him in Tenebrae, but didn't manage to offend him.

I'm refering to the original U8. So please fix this in Pentagram.

Ah, thanks for the link and clearing that up. Haven't seen that site before.
Finally, I know that this is a real bug and I wasn't dreaming the first time I saw that conversation. Guess I was being too nice to Beren...
