The Monk, Shamino, and the Guard at the gate in the beginning of Serpent Isle all have incorrect speech. How do I fix this?

Details, please. What do you mean by incorrect speech? Which version of Exult are you using, what operating system?

"Oink" is from U7 BG ;-)

U7 SI is more like the following:

"Thou hast saved my hedonistic iguana from mammal, Spankamiah. How can I ever repay thee?"

"Thou shalt know the Gump and the Gump shall make thee fractured"

That's not entirely correct. The characters bark "Oink!" and spout the funny garbage when clicked. This is true in U7BG and SI.

I've got to say, the dialogue resulting from incorrect answers to the copy protection questions is a masterpiece!

I always regretted the fact that I couldn't get into Monitor when failing the questions just because I wanted to see more characters than just Xenka (?) and Shamino engaging in their rather amusing rants :D

It doesn't really matter who you talk to, since the dialogue is randomly generated. After a while it gets repetitive since its always the same sentences using different keywords.

You really gotta hand it to Origin. Even when implementing a copy protection scheme, they incorporated it into the gameworld and managed to be humorous about it. Thats class.

Odd, I havent seen them bark "Oink" in SI, only the "funny nonsence" when clicked. I know that in BG, when you fail the copy protection question the first time, you simply arent able to leave Trinsic, but the second time when Batlin poses his questions and fail to answer them correctly, then they bark "Oink".

Check the gumps. The weight readout in the original said 'Oink!' and any other text fields did too ... ztats for example.

Colin why they don't talk right is because you didn't answer the copy right stuff that the monk questions you about....... if it was right she would have given you the hourglass of fate and would of fought with Karnax and then you hook back up with Shamino..... and the answers for the questions she asks are in the game manual...and keep the answers in mind because you get you will be asked questions like it again later on in the game

I actually had Serpent Isle glitch once and I was able to continue the game a bit farther in pig mode. Try this in the original once: Attack friendly NPCs and get a guard to do the whole cease and desist thing. Do so and get thrown in prison. When he initiates the conversation with you, he doesn't speak a load of gibberish.
