Weapon Bug

I downloaded the newest snapshots today of Exult and ES and started playing with ES and tried to make a new weapon.
But I somehow broke it. Now, whenever the people walk, the weapons jump around them.
I copied another version of Ultima 7 I had on an old hard drive and reinstalled both Exult and ES with no results. Anyone know how to fix this? I am at a loss.

A few questions:
- What exactly do you mean by "jump around them"? Do you mean that the weapon is not in the character's hand but a ways off? If so, did you set the "Origin" and "In-hand offset" fields?
- Also, does this happen to all weapons or only the weapon(s) you added/edited?
- When you said you "reinstalled both Exult and ES with no results", do you mean that the weapons were still not in their proper spots? If so, did you clear the "patch" dir?

1.) Whenever I or anyone in my party moves, the weapons jump around and appear in the person's hands occasionally. Moving each direction makes the weapons move differently. I did modify those settings in my custom weapon, but that's all.
2.) It happens with all weapons, even in different savegames and new games.
3.) I reinstalled Exult and nothing changed. I deleted the patch directory but no change.

Hmmm... Only one thing I can still think of re: 3. Did you delete the *correct* patch dir? There should be more than one. For example, I have Exult installed in "C:\Ultima7", with BG in "C:\Ultima7\BlackGate" and SI in "C:\Ultima7\SerpentIsle". All three directories have a subdirectory called "patch"; the directories "C:\Ultima7\BlackGate\patch" and "C:\Ultima7\SerpentIsle\Patch" contain the ES-created data files, such as WIHH.dat, the one that has the "in-hand offset" information.

I have only one PATCH folder and that is in my original Ultima 7 folder. I removed the entire directory and the problem persists.
I did a search in all of my Ultima folders but didnt find a WIHH.dat file...
I would just reinstall Ultima, but I left the CD at home and I recently moved a few hours away. So I pretty much ruined my game.

If you really didn't find the WIHH.dat file, there is the problem -- there should be one in the STATIC dir. And it *shouldn't* have been deleted, if it is not there (although the default is simply not displaying the weapon if the file isn't there).
I would just reinstall Ultima, but I left the CD at home
That kind of thing is why I keep a copy of the contents of my UC CD in my laptop's hard drive; if something goes wrong, I can reinstall it without having to go home.

I am still running Ultima off my slave hard drive from 2002. I've never had to re-install since then, as I've had no problems with it, until now.
I guess I'll just have to wait until I go home next...

Actually, I have found WIHH.dat in the STATIC folder, I guess my search lied to me. It hasn't been modified since '97.

So does anyone know how to fix this or why it happened? All I did was try to create a new weapon....

I noticed that I forgot to ask one thing: can you post your exult.cfg file here? It might shed some light on the issue...

Yeah, me neither. Hmm. I have to be honest, I don't know what is happening here. The last hope will be stdout.txt and stderr.txt... could you post them as well?
