Serpents Gate

When I double click the Serpents gate at Mad Mage Isle with all the four teeth I'm supposed to have all that happens is he kneels down within the statue mouth and the screen goes black for about a second and nothing happens, the he just stays at the same place. Am I missing something what else do I need to do?
