Advice on Exult Studio please?

I've seriously sat here for the better part of the day trying to figure this out (but finding out a bunch of other neat stuff about exult instead). And, why not, let me also say that I've been following Exult for a long while now. If it wasn't for you guys I would still be using a 486 to play Ultima, like I was just 2 summers ago.
But I guess I'm not expecting support on something not completed but instead am just looking if I missed the obvious.
I followed everything and even tried numerous re-installs, trying to put things in different folders and such as well. I specifically cannot get Studio to open when the docs say it should. The only discrepancy I can see is this (from http://exult.info/studio.php#run_steps):
OK, since you guys technically want it: Exult 1.2, WinXP, don't know about sound card and NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440.
Thanks in advance if there is any clue.

I am running BG and SI, I am using the latest Exult, I don't know much about the SDL other than it's from the latest package. What I am not getting is "CVS" on my version number. I'm getting just 1.2 in the corner instead instead.Next, you need to have the latest Exult snapshot and the SDL mixer installed properly onto your computer and working correctly. If you are currently playing either BG or SI on your machine this is probably done right. To make sure you have the correct version, ensure that it says X.XX CVS (X.XX stands for some version number) during Exult's start-up screen (for example see http://exult.info/images/screenshots/mainmenu.png).
