playable version?

Is there a recent 'known good' snapshot where the game (Serpent Isle) can be played all the way through?
I downloaded the 4/12/16 snapshot, installed it, the sifixes, and the combined audio pack, and the game crashed right after the initial scene with Thoxa and Karnax. I tried again, and the teleport storm didn't work properly. Wondering if there's a better version I should use or just play the original in Dosbox for now.

It shouldn't crash, but there are some code restructurings that might be problematic.
Is SI crashing or SI Fixes?

I just finished (as in yesterday) a play through of SI (using the most recent shapshot and SI Fixes)
I ran into a few bugs* (I guess I should have been a good citizen and sent a tracker on them) but nothing worse than the original game.
* I couldn't kill gremlins
* Celina was stuck in tourn mode and couldn't be killed

* Were you trying to kill gremlins with magical weapons? I'm pretty sure you'll need regular weapons to kill them.
* Celina can't be killed until her three companions are dead. She always dies last. Maybe one of them was lying on the ground unconsciously while you were whacking away at Celina?

Been doing some more testing with 4/12/16 on Windows, this time with vanilla Serpent Isle/Silver Seed. Stuff I have noticed so far, I've done most of Silver Seed and just came back from Fawn with Varo leaves:
1) First time I tried to train at the list field, I forgot you need to talk to the guard and instead double-clicked on Shazzana when she was on the field. Then I talked to the guard to start the training. When I entered the field Shazzana started a conversation and then the guard told me a whole bunch of debugging messages.
2) Second time I trained at the list field, after successfully getting training from Shazzana I found myself locked in the List Field with no way out.
3) Game crashed to desktop when approaching Fawn and some goblins showed up.
4) Music seems a little buggy, particular the 'enemies nearby' music. Sometimes gets stuck in a loop, sometimes doesn't play at all.
5) Monster respawning seems a bit aggressive but that might just be from the original game, can't remember.
Other than that, pretty playable, I've just been saving often. What's the best way to report issues? Would like to help out as I play through.

Just a bit more detail -- training is definitely broken. What happens is that after the training is over, whoever trained approaches the open door to leave the List Field, but does not go through it before it closes. It makes me unable to train the Avatar at all. If I train a party member, they get trapped but all I have to do is wander off and they eventually find a way out and catch up with the party.
Hope that helps, I have a savegame if anyone wants to take a look at it.

A save game would definitely help.

Here it is for the training issue:

Another thing I noticed: after I trained Dupre for the first time, trying to train anyone else after that, the door closes before they can go into the field.

Thanks for the save game. I can definitely recreate it with that. Let me try to recreate it from a new game as well.

Hmm. From a new game I don't have any of the issues...

I suspect this issue with the List field got triggered when I tried to double-click on Shazzana instead of talking to the guard. See #1 in my 2nd post.

The problem where magic weapons won't kill gremlins wasn't in the original game, was it?

Magic gremlins are immune to the magic damage type.
