Changing Key Bindings -

Hey guys, trying to really dig into this game and loving Exult but I am having some serious issues in trying to change my key bindings. I have followed the instructions given to the letter, and messed about quite a bit on my own and no matter what the game uses the default bindings. I have edited the exult.cfg but it does not seem to do anything at all, using both a modified default bindings file and a custom one that I created as per the instructions given, some help would be much appreciated! Just attempting to change the keyboard movement keys to WASD to allow for more comfort when playing the game on a laptop without a mouse!

What have you done and what are the entries in both exult.cfg and the keyboard shortcuts file?

I altered the bindings to my preferences in bgdefaultkeys, saved the file as ultimakeys, and went into the config and changed the path to ultimakeys.txt at first, I have tried it with and without parentheses, with and without quotations, and have also tried all of the above with the full path name, trying it both in a seperate folder, and trying it after moving "ultimakeys" to the exult directory. My current config looks like this - (Only pasted half, it doesnt cut off there obviously!) Am I supposed to be editing the exult.cfg in the main exult directory? Also, this is what the file looks like after I have played with it a bit, I have tried every variation I could think of.

c:\games\exult\ultima7

(default)

jmsfx.flx

c:\games\exult\serpent

C:\Users\miles\Documents\ultimakeys.txt

Also I am using the Keyring and Avatar pack mods, I don't see why that would interfere with this but I figured I would mention it.

First of all you need to check where exult.cfg is supposed to be on your system.the exult folder isn't it http://exult.info/docs.php#exult_config_location
Then I noticed that you left the keys section of blackgate at default but chanfed the SI section.

Oh and make sure you don't mix the defaultkey files for BG and SI. While they share most keys, some few are specific for each.
