I was messing around with the video settings and now I can't change them back because the accept button is outside of the screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the settings stay the same.

From the documentation

--reset-video
resets Exult's video settings to the default values. Very helpful when Exult isn't playable anymore because of wrong settings.

I used that command line option when I had that problem

Oh I found a reset video option in the start menu folder. I'm an idiot.

I cant even get to the options menu. or start menu.
I made the mistake of changing the screen size as you did, now I cant see any options.
just the start anke before it bombs out 5 secs later.
re-installed it about 5 times, to no avail.
Help!

the annoying thing is it was working fine when I installed it in the beginning.
now I cant even run the games without exult.
they just all bomb out.
I guess there is some settings file created by windows somewhere, that's not deleted when I uninstall the lot.
so next time I install it, the messed up settings still apply.

So run the reset video shortcut...

I get the intro screen up for 5 secs and then it bombs out.
(I can only see the corner of the intro due to incorrect settings)

Start menu or if you are running a Windows without a start menu where ever that is saved to...
Or you delete the exult.cfg, the documentation tells you where it is found.

there is no exult cfg to delete. just a exult cfg example.
I cant access any start menus. its sure not saved in the exult directory.
if windows 8.1 has saved it some profile I have no idea where to look.

In the documentation you can read about where exult.cfg is saved to. Please read it. I'm mobile atm so look it up yourself.
It's NOT where exult was installed to.

In the docs, location of exult.cfg in Windows 7 should be the same as in Widows 8.x

"C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Exult"

found and deleted everything there.
then re-installed.
and its fired up!
