Sound Problem (beeping noise)

First of all, since this is my first post here, let me just say I am truly impressed with the work you all have done on Exult. As both a programmer and a Ultima fan, I a grateful for what you all have done here.
Anyway, on to my question. I have installed the sound packs for Exult, but now, every few seconds, an annoying beeping noise is made. I don't know if it's an error with a missing sound file from the original game or something similar, and while the game is still playable, it becomes highly annoying to do so.
There doesn't seem to be any specific cause for it, it happens inside and outside of towns.
