NPC with Shape 1024

NPC with Shape 1024 (Black Gate in this particular case) seems to be crashing exult in this newest snap, no idea why.

Had her working nice before this current one.

On another note, any ideas why attempting to look at the NPCs in the Keyring mod in the Studio crashes the Studio?

From the changelog:
* Gave a much-needed version increase to Exult, particularly since the
paperdoll data it now expects is not backwards-compatible.
That is probably why. There is a new version of the Keyring mod which addresses this. To fix your own data, add a third column for character and item data containing, respectively, a zero and a 1; check the data files in the new version of the Keyring mod for an example.

I do not know why this is, but the Laurianna and Mariah characters in the Keyring mod crash the current Exult when accessing their paperdolls.

I am stumped.

On a side note, I have been seeing the wrong body shapes appear in corpses in the game and in modded games, in some cases this means no body visible to loot, which can be a real show stopper if you need something off a dead liche.

Tested this with Spark too in a normal game. Same corpse body error.

The body bugs are due to a bug I had accidentally added, but subsequently fixed, in the parser for the txt data files. It was also causing (at least for me) surfs to make explosion sounds. And it should also be the reason for the paperdoll crash for Mariah and Laurianna -- although if it only happens with them, I'd advise you to get the newer version of the mod in my website.

Base BG install lacks the Keyring customs, yet shows these "corpse" errors.
No Keyring files in there at all, no mods either. Yet corpses are still the wrong one.
Iolo just dropped an invisible corpse with a pink outline in a game with no mods at all.

Hmm. In SI, Iolo, Shamino, and Dupre are also dropping the wrong bodies in an unmodded game.

Invisible ones in Shamino, and Dupre's cases.

I will quote myself in reply:

OK, a more in-depth response. In an initial effort to remove the hard-coding of data, the originals also have body and paperdoll data (as well as some other data) stored in txt files which are bundled in the distributed flx files. This has been happening for almost a year now. There is, thus, no need to have custom data to have problems with the parser I mentioned.

That explains the body probs in both games.
Is there a fix file available for both BG and SI?

The fix is to wait for the next Exult snapshot; so no.

A correction: the latest snapshot already has the fix (just downloaded to test it).
