[02:39:15] <-- ShadwChsr has left IRC ()
[07:09:57] --> wjp has joined #exult
[07:09:57] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to wjp
[07:10:19] <wjp> hi
[07:13:10] <DarkeZzz> Hi.
[07:15:07] --- wjp is now known as wjp|work
[08:06:29] <-- DarkeZzz has left IRC ("Inficio-Infeci-Infectum")
[08:15:01] --> Darke has joined #exult
[08:29:03] <wjp|work> hm, problems with a newer bison
[08:30:32] <Darke> Looks like it. I'll compile exult with the 1.75 ebuild in a few moments, though it'll probably take a while before I find out if it's the problem or not. *grin*
[09:37:42] <Darke> bison 1.75 seems to compile it fine to me.
[09:40:35] <Darke> Ahh. 1.875 is cutting edge bison. ebuild made and downloading/compiling now. Will find out how well it breaks things soon. *grin*
[09:47:26] --> Fingolfin has joined #exult
[09:47:26] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Fingolfin
[09:47:50] <Fingolfin> yo
[09:51:25] <Kirben> hmm could source code snapshots be automated ?
[09:51:34] <Kirben> http://exult.sourceforge.net/forum/read.php?f=1&i=14040&t=14040
[09:52:23] <Kirben> Not sure how I could do that easily manually.
[09:55:29] <Kirben> I noticed ScummVM automates source code snapshots well, expect for including .cvsingore in packages.
[09:55:41] <wjp|work> it should be doable, yes
[09:55:59] <wjp|work> I wonder if it can be done on SF itself with a cron job
[09:57:02] <Fingolfin> sure
[09:57:07] <Fingolfin> do a cvs export etc.
[09:57:36] <Fingolfin> you can even make automated nightlies on the compile farm, "tidy" does that, for example
[09:57:42] <Fingolfin> but it's annoying to maintain
[09:57:49] <Fingolfin> you constantly have to tweak it, I am told
[09:58:44] <Kirben> That would sure be useful for non-win32 systems.
[10:00:52] <Fingolfin> yeah but the CF machines are pretty dated (regarding their system config).
[10:01:07] <Fingolfin> Since coax (who used to maintain the CF) left the team, little has been done on 'em it seems
[10:01:33] <Fingolfin> precision is now responsible for the CF, too - he's got too much stuff he's responsible for, IMHO (i.e. it's too much for a single person to all maintain)
[10:03:23] <Kirben> ah so doesn't sound like it would be worth it.
[10:04:53] <Kirben> hmm could the ScummVM linux snapshots be maybe fixed by just adding a -lstdc++ to linker ? just seems to be using cc instead of c++
[10:05:22] <Fingolfin> Kirben: the problem is not the 'how', but rather the 'who'
[10:05:34] <Fingolfin> the guy doing them is not responding to emails
[10:05:39] <Fingolfin> I emailed him several times in the past months
[10:06:08] <Kirben> I mean by just altering makefile in cvs
[10:10:28] <Kirben> That worked when I was mistakely using gcc instead of g++ when compiling scummvm with mingw in the past. Although I'm not sure how it would be done for libs.
[10:12:06] <Fingolfin> well no
[10:12:18] <Fingolfin> in his case, it looks as if he did modfify the Makefile, to use cc instead of c++
[10:12:28] <Fingolfin> so if we modify that section, he'll probably get a merge conflict or so
[10:12:39] <Fingolfin> in any case, we should shift that to #scummvm
[10:13:01] <Kirben> ok
[10:25:24] * Darke watches bison 1.875 go booooooom! Looks like we've found our problem. *grin*
[10:32:32] <wjp|work> bleeding edge... :-)
[10:34:52] <Darke> Found it. Fixed the problem (like I said, looks like a bug in bison) and the 'patch' is posted to the exult forum. *grin*
[10:35:27] <Darke> Now of course, I've got a completely pointless ebuild ofr 1.875 sitting in my tree, I suppose I should submit it to the bugs tree as an upgrade.
[11:00:54] * Darke emerges app-games/exult. Might as well. *grin*
[11:01:38] * Darke snickers. Apparently exult has problems with particularly aggressive c/cxxflags.
[11:24:24] --> matto has joined #exult
[11:27:52] <-- Matt_O has left IRC (brunner.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[11:32:09] --> Matt_O has joined #exult
[11:32:14] <-- Matt_O has left IRC (Connection reset by peer)
[11:32:18] <wjp|work> Darke: yeah, I read that :-)
[11:32:22] <wjp|work> never noticed myself
[11:35:23] <Darke> Me neither. But I never tried to really agressively compile exult with processor specific -march, etc.
[11:35:43] <wjp|work> yeah, same here
[11:40:02] <Darke> The exult ebuild doesn't enable things like compiling the compiler, so the bug doesn't show up in that. Ah well time to revert back to bison 1.35. *grin*
[11:48:41] * Darke wriggles his claws and wonders if he should try to setup pentagram-cvs and/or exult-cvs ebuilds whilst he's neck deep in the stuff?
[12:14:24] <Darke> Hmm... on second thoughts, lets not. *grin* The cvs stuff is a little icky.
[12:17:27] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[12:17:27] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[13:24:05] --> Ember has joined #exult

[14:12:37] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[14:12:39] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[14:16:48] * wjp|work laughs at latest 'spam'
[14:17:49] * Darke earperks?
[14:18:09] * wjp|work points at exult-general
[14:18:22] <Colourless> interesting :-)
[14:19:16] <Colourless> brilliant is a better word actually
[14:19:58] * Darke cackles!
[14:20:09] <wjp|work> I love it :-)
[14:20:16] <wjp|work> so, how much is 500gp in Euros? :-)
[14:20:58] <Colourless> well, how many oz is 1 gp?
[14:21:13] <wjp|work> well, how many grams is one oz?
[14:21:30] <wjp|work> ;-)
[14:22:07] <Colourless> u7 uses pounds for it's weight, so.... convert from lbs to oz, then go oz*Price of gold per ounce
[14:22:28] <wjp|work> wasn't 100 gp one pound?
[14:22:34] <Colourless> i think so
[14:22:53] <Colourless> 5 lbs of gold... i don't think you could afford that :-)
[14:22:59] <Darke> I'd be dubious. Did you notice that he doesn't mention the dot-pitch of the resolution? After all, one can easily turn 320x200 to 800x600 by increasing the size of the dots. *nodnod* So it's all an optical illusion.
[14:23:41] <wjp|work> there's apparently a factor 16 between lbs and oz
[14:23:55] <wjp|work> so 80oz
[14:23:57] <Colourless> gold is approx $350 us/oz
[14:24:08] <wjp|work> $28k
[14:24:14] <Colourless> yeha
[14:24:15] <wjp|work> a bit pricey :-)
[14:38:48] * Darke will skip it. He's happy with the resolution as it is. *grin*
[14:42:02] * Darke sleeps instead. *grin* Night!
[14:42:11] <wjp|work> night :-)
[14:42:16] <Colourless> cya
